The money people get in the world is not according to the ethical worth of their job. Like, why should a stripper at a high-class club get so much?

However, the real reason has to do with television. The reason they get so much is because so many people watch it on television, and advertisers pay millions and billions of dollars (or pounds) to advertise during football matches because they know they'll reach a very large audience. The clubs get some of the advertising revunue besides the television network's cut (meaning the clubs get millions of dollars, pounds), and then use these millions to pay the players, because the players are the reason we watch, so they should get the biggest cut possible.

That said, I don't think many brain surgeons are complaining about the amount of money they make.

It is all about how GOOD they are at kicking the ball, and how many people they can satisfy at one time
A Brain surgeon (Why does everyone use Brain Surgeon or Rocket scientist as the archetypal difficult job?) can only satisfy one person a day, a footballer can satisfy tens of thousands.
It ain't fair, but no one said it has to be!

The actual amount of money they get has nothing to do with how good they are. Their skills have only the effect of deciding who gets paid more than who and which club offers the sum. The reason football players get as much as they do is because of us, the fans. We watch the games, purchase the sponsored products, wear licensed team apparel, etc. Competition between clubs also has a lot to do with how much, however only to a certain extent, this to changes with the budget of each team.

Its criminal. All football stadiums should be shut down, leveled and affordable housing built on the land. All footballers, and anyone associated with the industry, should get a worthwhile job. Something in the care industry or other public service for a reasonable wage. Football should be retrospectively wiped out of our history and all the hooligans associated with football clubs should be drafted into the armed forces and shipped over to Iraq or the Lebanon to fight like real men.......

if one club took huge paycuts then the players would just all leave and start earning millions somewhere else. if something is 2 b done then every prem club has to do it at the same time, and chelsea will never agree to that. this is why footballers are paid more than brain surgeons

Because managers like chelskis one offer thousands so Football Players go there, which means the other clubs have to offer quite a lot so their Players will stay. I know its not all Football Players that think that way, and there are some loyal Football Players who stay with their club through thick and thin. I just used that as an example. Anyway thats my opinion.

Why do tennis players get so much money for hitting a ball around? Why do film stars, such as Tom Cruise,Jack Nicholson etc get £20,000,000 for about six weeks work saying words and pulling faces(if they don't get it right the first time they can retake it)? Why do some people get £10,000 a week for reading the news? I could go on!

Personally I do not think they should be paid the kinds of earning they are given. No one is worth the fees they seem to attract.

As far as I can tell, the reason is that their playing career is going to be limited unlike most other occupations. They earn a lifetime's salary over about 10 years. They risk injury which would hamper them in later life.

Still do not think they should get it, but I do believe that is the reason for it.

Simply because there are people out there dumb enough to pay them that much. If we'd pay people on the basis of the importance of their work I'd say put firefighters up there as well. Those guys seriously put there lives at risk to save other people.
