OMG! I think you may be related to my 14yr. old son!! I think the very same of him. If you TRULY have that much trouble remembering things, then you need to see someone for counseling. My son has ADD, and it causes him a lot of trouble with his concentration. He tries to use it for an excuse too many times, though. You really should agree to get some help if you have trouble remembering that young.

i have the same problem. i hear them, but i dont really pay attention. i wonder if its a form of a.d.d? (attention defficite disorder) i dont even realize im doing it.
It helps me if i ask them to write things down that they want me to do, or i write it down myself on a post it note. i love post it notes they saved my life.
Also it helps if you repeat outloud what they tell you to do, so that you actually hear it...cause sometimes when they speak it just sounds like BLAH and it goes right through the other ear? you konw?...
have you tried talking to your parents? try explaining to them that you hate it about yourself, but you just have a huge problem remembering things, and its not cause you dont respect them, its just that you are so consumed in your mind with everything going on in your life that somethings are just hard to remember, on top of everything else.
good luck.

Your parents are just trying 2 get u to grow up as a responsable and good adult, you should listen to what they say more often, belive me it helps, they will notice that and you will be apreciated for that, you should also put your parents on the first place in your mind, that way you will listen to them more often...
Good luck!

Do you think that you just tune them out? When they tell you to do something, they should make sure you hear them - like talking to you by name. And YOU should make sure that when you hear them, you don't forget to do what they ask.

You need to listen to your parents and do what they ask. Of course you hear them and using the excuse that you forgot to do it is just plain lazy.

Tell them to post on a memo pad on the fridge what your chores are and then pay attention to it.

well, honestly, the only peice of advice i can say is...take time to listen to others, and if you look them in the eyes while they are speaking to you...you will hear and remember things more clearly.
