I had a best friend who I loaned $450 and she never repaid me. Needless to say we aren't talking anymore.

I have found that friends and money don't mix - if the friend doesn't understand that, all the more reason they don't mix. Another kind of disappointment I once had was a friend took advantage of me because she was cheap when it came time to reciprocate hospitality. I actually heard her whisper to another friend, "Let her pay for it, not us." I was always paying for it! I didn't do anything at the time, but the next day I called her and told her I no longer wanted to be friends and I told her why. I also told her that the reason I was bothering to tell her was so if she ever had another great friend like me she wouldn't blow it. She begged me to reconsider, but I told her I was done with her. This really made me feel better and hopefully she learned a valuable lesson as well.

Yeah I had a friend that emotionally drained me. When she was done she moved on to another person. It is easier said than done to not loan money, but I've been told if you ever have some one ask to borrow money either tell them no or give it to them as a gift. Chances are our "friends" weren't really friends.

I recently had a friend, we hung out and I always paid. Needless to say I bought her the most awesome presents for xmas and bdays...she screwed me over and f***ed the guy I was with. not only did I spend tons of money on her, I trusted her....that was a HUGE mistake.

OH yeah! gave the person several chances to change but to no avail. he's always at the receiving end but was not really thankful for it. i share your sentiment.
