First of all let me explain that I am sure you will get lots of advice. I teach heating and cooling in Saint Louis, so I speak with some authority.
There is a sticker under the hood that will tell you all about your air conditioner. It will tell you how much your system holds. Most small cans of R-134a are 12 ounces. So simply take the amount on the sticker and divide by how many ounces per can. That will tell you how many to buy.
This of course assumes your system is empty and currently in a deep vacuum. If either of these two prerequisite do not exist, then you must complete this step first. Otherwise my information is useless.

Look at the sticker under the hood. It will tell you in ounces or lbs. Figure out the contents of the cans you are buying and do the math. It will probably be around 2-3 cans if they are 12 oz cans and if the system is empty. If the system is not empty and you don't know how much is in it and you are just trying to top it off you need to know how to read a set of gauges to properly charge the system.

The system holds 1.63 lbs. So it all depends on how low you are now. But two cans will be .4 lbs more than enough.

A/C capacity is measured in pounds and ounces not cans, so without the proper equipment and knowledge you should not touch it.
