My personal favorite book is The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran, but you might enjoy James Patterson's books, or Sue Monk Kidd's books 'Secret Life of Bees' and ' The Mermaids Chair'. Try all of Dave Pelzer's books about his life having survived terrible abuse at the hands of his mother.. 'A Child Called It', 'The Lost Boy', 'A Man Named Dave', and ' The Privilege of Youth'. Or try Toni Morrison's books 'The Bluest Eye' or 'Beloved'. You might like 'Running With Scissors' by Augusten Burroughs. Hope you got some ideas here today, and happy reading!! :)

King Fortis the Brave by Michael LaMontagne and Ronald E. Snyder about a pair of twins that are pulled into a magical realm and caught up in the battle against a wicked sorceress that is trying to overtake the land. A great book full of action and humor that I found hard to put down!

I loved Rapture of Canaan! It's a very good book, particularly for people from the South. It's about this girl who lives on a religious commune with her conservative family and becomes pregnant (she's a teenager and unmarried, very much against the religious community's doctorine.)
Virginian's might really like it, a professor from VCU and ODU wrote it.
