First of all , STOP stressing out about it. Second , STOP putting chemicals on your face. Third , dont pick , poke or pop any zits , they come and go on their own. Fourth , focus on your inner beauty and not on your face , this will increase your feelings of self worth , and reduce your stress. Fifth , use regular soap and rince clean. Sixth , trust me.

STOP EXFOLIATIING! That is too harsh for sensitive skin and is most likely the cause of why your acne is worse. I had the same exact problem and I thought that the more I washed my face, the better my skin would be, but that is a myth. You can actually cause more zits by washing too much. I recommend using something like a Dove bar of soap, witch hazel (natural and sold in any GNC store) as a toner that is gentle but effective and top it off with Neutrogena moisterizer for sensitive skin. That is all that you need and that should improve your skin dramatically! Stop using the benzoyl peroxide too- more than likely it is too harsh as well.

Also...STAY AWAY from Proactiv. It may work for some people, but after listening to your symptoms, it appears that you may have a skin condition that will only be worsened by Proactiv. Try the steps I outlined above and if it does not impove in a week...see a dermatologist. You may have something like rosecea and not even know it!

I have a acne free program i can send u through email. Acne is an internal problem. Topical treatments will only last as long as u keep using them. Mainly they make your breakouts worse. Once you stop using them, your acne will appear again because acne is an internal problem. Your blood and liver are toxic.
The liver is the most important organ in your body. It's known for over 500 fuctions. Once the liver becomes full of toxic waste, it becomes sluggish and sends everything it can no longer handle to the skin which is another major organ. This is how acne forms. Your body needs a clean diet. Free from perservatives, processed foods, foods containing hydrogentated oils, beef and pork, any thing containing refined white flour such as pasta, rice, etc. When refined white flour products enter your system they form a glue paste substance which stays in your digestive system for weeks. So does meat. Meat was never meant to be consumed. It's just something that happened to society over time. The acne free program i have will tell you everything you need to know about foods you shouldn't be eating and why you shouldn't eat them. After you have started the fresh diet they will give you, you will have to do an internal cleansing for seven days, a parasite cleanse because believe me if you have acne you have parasites, and then a liver cleanse which is the most effective thing in this entire program. Did you know that 90% of diseases are preventable with a clean colon and liver?!?! It almost impossible to get any disease with the proper cleanse because if you have a weak colon and liver than you have a weak immune system. I have the answer you're looking for. Acne is a disease from toxic waste which makes the blood dirty which makes the colon dirty which makes the liver dirty. It's a chain reaction. The cleaner your diet the clearer your skin. I introduced my sister to this program. She had acne by the pound. When she completed this program, her skin was like porcelain. She couldn't get acne again if she wanted to. Proactiv or anything else won't get the job done. Topical treatments aren't the answer sweetie. Believe me. The answer is cleaning your body up. Topical treatments are meant to cover the acne up for the time being and for what when all it's going to do is make it worse or make it go away and come right back. You want lasting results i'm sure. My sister tried everything and this was the only thing that came through. Your body is your temple and if you don't take care of it you will suffer in the end.

Ok...stop everything. It sounds like your face is being washed raw to me. For some, less is more. Just try washing your face with something like Purpose soap in the morning and at night. Don't use a washcloth....just splash the soap off with water. Pat your face dry with a towel. Then put on a mild moisturizer. See how this goes for about a week or two. If you don't see any results then you need to see a dermatologist....you may need an antibiotic. I used to do the same thing as you and my face was a mess.....I only wash my face with a gentle cleanser now and the problem has resolved itself.

The Proactive stuff can be harsh on some skin....it ripped my face up and made it worse. AcneFree is a better option.

My daughter has severe acne. We tried everything. She is finally seeing results using Mary Kay products. She is using the TimeWise 3 in 1 Cleanser and TimeWise Moisturizer, both for combination to oily skin, and then she uses the Microderm Abrasion Set every other day. The Microderm is not marketed for the treatment of acne. But a friend recommended and said people have been seeing really good results with it. My daughter and I are both really happy to have finally found something that works. It seems a bit expensive, but a little bit goes a long way. And it lasts quite awhile. You can find it here:

Using soap will strip off the natural oils from your skin and make it produce oil even more excessively after washing..

My son got rid of acne by taking Roaccutan (prescribed by dermatologists) and weekly TCA-treatments. He saw significant improvements within 3 weeks and was acne-free after 3 months, since then it hasn't reoccured.

You can purchase skin care products either from a dermatologist or save big $$$ by buying from this website: www.perfectcomplexion.net

You should use the TCA-Aloe-Vera Cleanser, TCA-Complex and Royal Jelly Gel for compresses. You can also ask on that site for further recommendations.

Stay away from stuff that you buy at supermarkets and drugstores, they all give only little improvement and acne breaks out worse later.

I use a product called AcneFree. You can get it at WalMart and it's less expensive than proactive. Plus the ingredients in AcneFree are time-release, whereas Proactiv isn't.

I also know some people who use lye soap. That works if you have very oily skin. I never tried the lye soap but I know people that have and they had good results. Also, your body won't develop a resistance to lye like it does to benzoyl peroxide.

This may sound gross but use your urine. It's sterile and kills bacteria. Apply once a day let it stand for about 5 minutes and then wash it off. In one week you will have completely clear skin.

P.s. I noticed a lot of people suggesting "proavtive" if you look at the ingredients, all it is, is benzoyle peroxide so save yourself 80 bucks.

It could be a lot of things. The stuff you use to wash your face could be too harsh. Also, diet has a lot to do with it.

I used proactive and it works good but I think it's a bit pricey. Avon has a version of Proactive called True Porefection. It's about half the price and works great. I use the foaming face wash, toner, and clearing lotion.

proactive doesn't work for everyone...

instead of soap, try the clean & clear pads... they help prevent blemishes/blackheads.

try switching to a salycilic acid, the new neutrogena product that reduces blemishes in 8 hrs is pretty good.

also try to keep your hair away from your face so the oil from your hair doesn't get on to your face.

if you're using a moisturizer, make sure its oil free, because that'll clog your pores too if you have oily skin.

drink lots of water and have some fruits too...working from the inside out helps A LOT.

apply the benzoyl peroxide to your entire face, not just where you have spots. this will heal the spots already there and then help prevent the new ones. also try astringent after washing your face and before the benzoyl peroxide.
