You are right, Justin, abortion is wrong. Neither your girlfriend's mother or anyone else can force her to abort your child. It is illegal for anyone to force an abortion. Abortion clinics in Tennessee cannot perform abortions after 14 weeks. In order to abort a child after 14 weeks in Tennessee, a person would have to find a doctor willing to abort the child in a hospital and a hospital willing to allow it.

Please take your girlfriend to a crisis pregnancy center right away. You can find one near you here:

or by calling 1-800-395-HELP. They will give the two of you good advice about how to protect your baby, and they will provide you with lots of free support and help. If necessary, they can find your girlfriend a safe place to stay until the baby is born.

If your girlfriend's mother manages to make her an abortion appointment, your girlfriend should refuse to go. If someone tries to drag her to the car, she should start yelling, "Call the police!" Remember, a forced abortion is illegal, and she should do WHATEVER it takes to save your baby.

Justin, there is a shortage of real men in this country, and you are a real man. Good for you for doing the right thing and standing up for the life of your baby and the well-being of your girlfriend. Keep us posted.

When a girl is pregnant, it does NOT matter what her age, she can be 10 years old and the parents cannot make any decisions about the baby or her body when she is pregnant. My mom is a nurse in the labor and delivery and she told me the law about that. She once had like a 12 year old having a baby and she wanted pain meds and the mother said no she is going to have this baby natural and my mom asked the 12 yr old if she would like the pain meds now. She told the mom that she didn't have any say so that it was up to the girl in labor. When a girl becomes pregnant she is a woman and can make her on decisions it is the law. And my mom was working at the Baptist Hospital in Knoxvill Tennessee so there you go.

A pregnant female cannot be forced to have an abortion unless done so in a court of law for extreme circumstances. So no, your gf's Mom cannot force her to have an abortion.

In most states, I am unfamiliar with tennessee laws, an abortion can be performed up to 12 weeks. Few states allow late term abortions once the fetus is viable.

That is not legal at all! No one can force a minor to have an abortion, not even the parents. They would have to prove that she was mentally incapable of taking care of a child, and even then the argument for adoption can be made. Stand up to her, stand up for your friend, and consult the authorities. I would actually recomend helping your friend get out of her home. Her mother may try something more drastic to get rid of the baby if she doesn't want your friend having it that bad.

At 17 weeks, its illegal anyways. 12 weeks in the legal limit on abortions. Otherwise, your gf and her parents could end up in jail.

They can't force her to have an abortion...go to Planned Parenthood, and ask for help. You can't have an abortion after a certain week anyways

No they can't. The girl would have to give permission first. Here in Califonia they perform an abortion up until 24 weeks.

Definitely go to Planned Parenthood and ask about your options. They can tell you all the specifics of Tennessee. With something as important as this, I wouldn't rely on the information (or misinformation) from strangers.

No, no one can force her to have an abortion! Right on if she doesn't want to get an abortion. Tell her not to worry, it is her choice. Just support her like your doing. ;)
