Life and death in and of themselves are abstracts contemplated by the self aware. Death can provide a foundation for creating life's meaning only when one comes to terms with their own mortality. It is the gut acceptance of an end that allows the honest examination of the individual human condition and forces a recognition that without an internal assessment of the id then the life lived is truly wasted and death is a way of reclaiming the organism back into the biomass. When death is accepted as the final answer then the futility of living as a sentient being becomes clear and only when this occurs can one truly create meaning for their life. Because only then will their actions represent the legacy they wish to be known by

Meaningful
We all think about dieing at some point. So obviously it means something to everyone. Its the DEGREE of meaning that makes the difference.
Anyone that says death is meaningless is either very young, fooling themselves or trying to look cool. Put them in a life or death situation and they'll sing a different song, I know!

It makes life more meaningful because you know it will end. You have to make the best of the time that you have, before it runs out, smart*ss.

Death has nothing to do with making life meaningful or otherwise. The way you LIVE makes life meaningful or not. Dying is just the end of the ride on this plane.

Nothing could be more meaningful to life than death. Death makes the life colorful. How? Dont we see the colors around us and all of us making our lives colorful too. Had there been no end of life, life would have been a boring endless journey to nothingness.

Neither.
Lets put it dis way. Life is the journey and Death is the terminal destination of life.
If life is meaningful, death is sure to come one day. Life is meaningless? you die too.
Thus what makes life meaningless or meaningful is life itself.
Good ques. Smartarse lady.

When you die...life at that point becomes meaningless. But ask a person who has just been diagnosed with a terminal illness, life will at that moment become soooo incredibly meaningful.

A life well-spent is the ideal. Choose life but know that, primarily, human life is for the purpose of realizing (knowing) the Self, nothing else is lasting as this. To realize the One Self is the true liberation~~free from the bondages of pain and pleasure (happiness) into the eternal state of Bliss!
What is important to know is that the human body is needed to practice Meditation that leads into this realisation (liberation).

Death is a part of life so I would say it inadvertantly makes it meaninful depending on the person. Some want to do great things before they die so death becomes a motivater, while other commit suicide so it makes life meaningless. Depends on the twist you put on the perspective you look at sh*t ya know? By the way, great question! Thanks!
