Vanessa is my husband exgirlfriend and stayed friends with my husband. She lives in texas, we live in Hawaii. They dated about 8 -9 years ago in high school. Currently Vanessa is in a relationship with someone and is hoping to be engaged in about a year....last night i found an I.M. of their chatting. Vannessa asked how I was doing and was just catching up with my husband. But at the end of the conversation she told my husband that she misses him, to which he replied he misses her to. I questioned my husband about this, he told me he does not love her or have feelings for her he just misses her as a friend. But if this was innoccent would you end a chat with "i miss you?" Do friends end conversations like that? My husband said he would not care if I told my friends i missed them. Any advice?

Yes, it is normal. I tell my friends I miss them if I don't get to see them for an extended period of time. If this is all you have to go on, I would say let it go.

Your jealous.

Jealousy is not about love, it's about insecurity.

If a man is mature and emotionally healthy enough to be friends with a ex...I think that is great.

And we're not talking about a long conversation with the focus on this feeling, and they were not having cyber sex...they were talking like friends do...and at the very last...they closed with a sentiment of friend-love.

I think your over-reacting.

I think first or young loves stay with us for the rest of our lives, and if you have a husband, that is sensitive enough to still care about friends from the past then your a luckier woman that you realize.

However, you have the right to your feelings, and you should discuss this with your husband. Just don't get carried away with yourself. It's really a good thing, not a bad one.

Afterall...you said in their conversation they were discussing spouses and stuff...what did he say about you? Was he disrespectful in any way, or was he complimentary?

saying I miss you to a friend is entirely different than saying it to an old love that is now a friend.

He may have just said that to be friendly back to her.

Do you trust him? That is the real question. If you don't trust him, it would be better to figure out why ( examine if it goes deeper than this one IM conversation), and start from there.

Honestly, it doesn't sound to me like you have anything to worry about... She may still have a soft spot for him in her heart, but I don't see how it might threaten your marriage. He may not even miss her that much at all, but was simply trying to be nice. If they separated on good terms, I don't see why they can't miss talking to each other every once in a while. If they're mature adults, it should have no bearing on their current relationships.

you need to trust your husband if he says he dont have any other feelings then you should know him best. if he dont tell her he loves her then he is fine you can miss old friends and you can always be friends with you exes so trust your husband

YES, I THINK IT IS INNOCENT FOR SOME, BUT MY PAL STE' AND I ALWAYS SAY WE MISS EACH OTHER IT'S A SIGN OF AFFECTION, ESPECIALLY IF WE HAVE NOT SEEN EACH OTHER IN A COUPLE OF WEEKENDS, HE'S MY FRIEND WITH BENEFITS, BUT SOMETIMES IT'S JUST INNOCENT CONVERSATION BETWEEN OTHERS..

In this case I do not believe you have anything to worry about. You have a good man there. Hang on to him.

Good luck!
