Doesn't our constitution guarantee life, liberty and the pursuit of hapiness? If being homosexual makes someone happy, don't they have that right?

Ethan, Anyone who is against gays having the same rights as straights is stopping them. Are you against gay marriage? It's a yes or no question...

wm, I believe that trying to define marriage as between a man and a woman was not approved or signed. In some states, it was. RECENTLY. Only when gay people wanted to start exercising their RIGHT, did people try and redefine marriage. ANd I say right, because it is a right. Boy Scouts is a private organization that collects dues. Married couples receive tax benefits, as well as other benefits from our government. Not the same. And girls have girl scouts, formed because of the INEQUALITY between the genders. ANd in case you didn't know, gay people have children all of the time. Thanks to society keeping them from being able to be open, some have lived a lie with the oppposite sex, and have had children.

wm, I'm also glad you chose boy scouts as your example. They've been known for discriminating against men, as well as women!

therandman, slavery used to be tradition as well. Tradition does not mean law. And if you want to create something called 'gay marriage' I'm sure gay people would be fine with that.

irisharpist, you have those rights up until they infringe on soneone else's rights to the same. Being gay doesn't infringe on your rights, and this country was founded on a very important principle of separation of church and state. You know that

look at what made you decide who you could be intimate with in the first place .
THE natural drive to reproduce will never end but the closeness and bond formed during sex is often very powerfull and comes with its own protection and care .
WOMEN who sleep with several men are often well cared for and never lack for social stimulation dating frequently and enjoying a much more active and happy life ..

It is a choice, all behavior is. How could it be genetic as homosexuals can not pass their genes (no procreation)?

No, our constitution does not garuntee life, liberty, and pursuit of hapiness, perhaps you should read it. The phrase you are thinking of is in our Declaration of Independence.

People have the right to be gay, nobody is stopping them. Some people oppose their entry into some institutions because they do not meet the criteria. A marriage is between a man and woman by definition. You want us to start letting girls into Boy Scouts too? They don't have the right equipment. Just like joining the Boy Scouts is a priveledge, not a right, so is getting married.

No one is taking their choice away to ride the hersey highway or muff dive behind closed doors. What they want to do with their bodies is their prerogative. Marriage has been an understood union between a man and a woman for almost 2,000 years now. By being gay does that decrease your IQ to a point where you can't understand a 2,000 year old tradition? Gays can have civil unions or some other bond legally recognized and that provides the same benefits as a marriage. I really believe it should be a issue left for state to decide among voters. The feds should stay out of it.

No, I don't think they should have that right. Why? Because homosexuality is wrong. We need to find where we stand as a nation and stand there. The US was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and I'd like it to stay there.

And I think you have your documents mixed up: "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" is found in the Declaration of Independence. But, even if it was in the Constitution, that doesn't mean you should have the right to do whatever makes you happy. If walking around in public stark naked made me happy that doesn't mean it's right to do.

I know that being gay is not a choice, but I believe if it was a choice it would be no ones business. There is no reason to interfere with some one else's life. I don't see why you or anyone should feel compelled to stop someone else's marriage, adoption or anything else about their life. You certainly wouldn't want it done to you.

wm critter is a right-wing liar who thinks contolling others is a substitute for his own lack of control.Sexual orientation is innate.
And dont ask Ethan to like it,like we asked.

ONLY right-wing fundamentalists have the "right" to DEFINE marriage in the first place. What garbage. That stems from the midevial idea that burning heretics at the stake is the Lord's work.
Please.

I'm sorry, I must have missed something. Who said they didn't? I may find it personally revolting, but as far as I'm concerned, what you do in your own bedroom is your own business, as long as it doesn't affect me or my family.

Yes they should, but it's not a choice, so conservatives should shut up.
