I live in florida and like to go to the beach but I am embarrassed to wear a swimsuit because I get razor bumps when I shave my bikini area also on the backs of my legs. I have tried using bikini zone which helps some but still get a little. I see women all the time that dont have this problem that shave as much as I do. I have also tried antibacterial soaps, sensitve skin shaving cream and some other products. Is there a secret I just don't know about?

I used to go long periods of time between shaving for that exact reason but I discovered that it doesn't really have everything to do with the type of cream you shave with, it has to do with the coarseness of your hair. I started using Nair bikini but if you're totally apposed to anything other than shaving, use Cocoa Butter everyday on the area you shave. It will take about 10 days or so before you have no signs of razor bumps, but it will help prevent razor bumps/burn ect. It will also lighten any evidence of past "problems". The bumps come from the hair not breaking through the skin all the way. Cocoa Butter makes the hair and skin more subtle and makes the whole process easier to deal with...good luck and have fun on the beach.

Try shaving after/during a hot shower. Use soap...not shaving lotions as the mineral oil dulls the blade. Use a new/sharp blade and replace it often. Look for a high quality straight razor online, as cheap single blade razors cut poorly, and the newer multi-blade razors cut the hair too far under the skin and cause in-grown hairs. Try not to shave "against" the grain of the hair...even though it does leave a smoother shave...maybe after you shave for a while w/o bumps you can try that.

This seriously works for me. First use a good shave gel, the off brands are crap. Second use a razor that good and sharp, dull will just cause problems. When you put the on the shaving gel, heres the trick!! Let it sit for a few minutes while you shave your legs etc. Its softens the hair and skin in that area. You may need to apply a little more before you shave. Also, shave in a downward motion pulling the skin taut, in the direction of the hair growth. Hope this helps, it works for me!

Put on a lot of shaving cream/gel. Make sure that your razor has a aloe strip. Also make sure that your legs are wet. This tips should help you to get rid of your shave bumps.

you need to exfoliate then use moisturizer on that area and use a shaving cream made for women the men's are horrible.
Waxing would be your best route but you don't want to do that? U can do it at home and they have numbing spray you can apply before waxing if the pain is what you're worried about.

Well i read that using an exfoliate on your saved legs are good. But i use Bikini Zone and that works. So i don't really know but i mean you will have redness in that area because of the sensitivity. You could use body foundation at YvesRocher.com that would cover it up!

I have always shaved, and always get the ugly razor bumps, I was sooooo sick of it, so I recently for the first time waxed. oh my god it hurted so bad, and left me sore, burnt and red for the first 2 days, but now it looks so good, no bumps and no hair yet. I would go with the wax if I were you

They actually have new razors that are just for your bikini area. They are tiny little razors that do the job, and they do it well might I add. I had the same problem as you. Now that i use these little shavers...feel free to bare all. No bumps!!!
