I have hesrd may things to use on my horses hair. Her mane and especially her tail hairs are VERY course. Much courser than the other Paints at the barn. This makes detangleing a gruelling experience on my hands. Not to mention the little cuts I get on my fingers. I have heard Mane and Tail, Cowboy Majic and Show Sheen work good two. What on is Best? Any suggestions?

Mane and Tail works well. Although we own/show Palominos and use Quick Silver shampoo to help clean and bring out the white color. We then follow up with a high quality conditioner (Pantene).

After the shampoo and thorough rinsing, while the hair is still wet, work the conditioner in and let sit for 8-10 minutes, then rinse out. We use a blow-dryer to dry the tail first before running a brush through the hair. The tail is then loosely braided and placed in a tail bag. This minimizes the amount of hair breakage during grooming and helps to keep the tail clean during off-periods.

The classes we show in (WP, WH, Trail, HUS Eq, etc.), require our mane's be kept short and banded. Not free-flowing like a reiner. Because we show, hair loss is taken seriously in our barn.

Wash it with Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner regularly. You can now buy both at many drugstores and use it on yourself. If you show your horse get show sheen with sunblock in it to help detangle on bad hair days. I have also used baby oil (it's cheap) for show horses that stay in the barn during the day. Just use this as needed or you will end up with a greasy mess! : )

Show Sheen is good after your wash and condition the mane and tail. Then apply the Show Sheen when the tail and mane is wet. I use to do that and then french braid the tail real tight. It keeps is soft, not tangled and looks really good when you take it out.

Yes, the horses are killed. Slaughter crops in Europe and Asia kill over one hundred,000 horses consistent with yr for the beef. Hair is a by means of-fabricated from slaughter for meat. Those who say they don't kill them to get the hair have got to get up. Find anyone who buys horse hair from members. Do you spot any individual on the internet purchasing horse hair? You can uncover tons promoting horse hair merchandise made in China in any other case in which or even horse hair on the market by means of the pound however no person is purchasing it. All US horse slaughter crops have been closed given that men and women see them as partner animals. Now the pony enterprise will undergo and ancient horses will undergo. People will shoot them and go away them to lie. People will sell off them. Wait and notice. I could upload that last meat slaughter palnts did not quite aid horses given that rendering crops are carrying on with to function. The horses are simply no longer valued at so much and no person is looking the rendering crops to peer how the horses are handled. They do not even have got to be alive or contemporary once they arrive on the rendering plant. Sorry to factor out this unhappy truth.

Whatever you use to wash it with, if you spray the Show sheen in while it is still wet you will have a much easier time detangling when it is dry.

Use a very wide toothed comb. Start at the bitty bottom, and slowly work your way up. If you "pick" with the comb you will save your fingers.

Mane and Tail is great, and if you mix in a splash of vegetable oil in with her grain everyday you will probably see a improvement with the overall health of her tail, mane and coat. This will also keep her mane and tail from snapping when you are trying to brush through it.

Main and Tail is the best. Most of my friends who are horse owners swear by it.
