Does it make a big difference in results if you use your first morning urine vs. any other time of day? Why?

Yes, the FMU is the most concentrate. However, the day after my missed period I tested and got a negative. I threw up the rest of the morning and tested later after drinking very little fluids (or keeping them down rather) and it was positive. I took another that evening and it too was positive. (My husband and I are expecting our fourth baby in a month).

It depends on the person. Buy a two or three pack of tests (and NOT the pink +/- ones! They are easily mis-read as positive with pink evaporation lines) and take one in the morning, and a couple in the afternoon. Another good hint is to pee a bit in a clear cup and make sure that the urine is very dark yellow (concentrated), the darker the better for more accurate results when you have not missed a period yet (the day before you miss one) or the day of.

Good luck, oh and check out www.peeonastick.com my girlfriends and I used this website when we were trying to conceive, good info and entertainment.

Well think about it. You sleep about 8 hours per night. So if you hold your pee for 8 hours then test, if should be mre effective because the hormone would be stronger.
These days, most pregnancy tests don't require first morning urine. They have advanced within the last couple of years. So unless you are testing too early, I would say that testing at any time of the day should give you the same results.
I tested at night and got a faint positive. I ran right out and brought a digital test and no more then 15 mins later, I took the digital one and it was also positive.
So depending on how far along you are and the sensitivity of the test you may may not need first morning urine.
Hope this helped.

it depends on the type of test you buy. READ THE DIRECTIONS if you want to have accurate results...

And the reason is because, pregnancy test try to detect a certain hormone to determine pregnancy...morning urine would have a higher concentration of this hormone and would be easier to detect.

If you are using "an early detection" test...it may not matter if you use morning urine because the test is already more sensitive than the average test.

I recommend using a First Response pregnancy test...IT IS the most sensitive test on the market.

Look at the package directions for the test. Some tests are more sensitive to the HCG hormone so you won't need first morning's urine. However, if you are going to test during the day, try not to drink too many fluids and hold your pee for a good 4 hours before you test. It takes a while for the HCG to build up in your system and if you pee too often or drink too much fluid the hormone could become diluted and not produce an accurate result.

My brother is an obstetrician , when i got pregnant and asked him the same question he said No it really doesn't make difference but however first urine is more concentrated in preg hormones so it gives you a more accurate reading but if I've missed ur period for more than seven days u can have a test at any time throughout the day it will be accurate... Good Luck :-)

It depends on how far along you are. Yes the morning is the best time to take a test because it contains the most pregnancy hormones. But the further along you are the more likely you are to get a positive reading during anytime of the day.

They always say that the first urine is more concentrated so it would give you a more accurate reading. However, with some of the newest pregnancy tests they have available now.. they say that any time of the day works with them. When I got pregnant I did my test at 3pm and it came up positive right away!

Good Luck! :)

First morning urine is the most concentrated. If you do it later in the day, you have had stuff to drink, and waters down the urine

Yes, because the hormone it measures is most concentrated in first of the morning urine.

Honestly in my opinion, i dont think it matters, if your pregnant, your pregnant. I didnt wait until the morning to take a test and it was positive. It was actually at night when i took my first one, then later in the same night when i took the other 2.
