Not at all. It has to do with her birth canal, nd hips. I am 5'3" with a petite frame, and I only had a 2 hour labor. My OBGYN said I was just built for having babies.

Well I am the proud mother of a 3 year old little boy, and I am only 5' tall. I went 2 weeks late actually, so i don't think height plays a role in the determination of pre-term labor. I think it has more to do with heredity, and the physical well being of the woman. I did however develop a HUGE belly because I am so short. 30 lbs of belly...sheeesh...Good Luck!!!

I don't think height has anything to do with pre-term labour at all. I am 5' tall and my 3 year old was 5 days late! A friend of mine is 4' 8" and her husband is 6'4" and she carried all her 3 children full term (she had to go through C-sec, though). Just tell your daughter to take care of herself and see her ob often. Congrats and enjoy becoming a grandma!!

I am only 5 ft., and I had my baby 2 1/2 weeks early according to my due date. I only gained 16 pounds, I think she was just running out of room in there.

I really don't think so. I'm only 5'2" and had two vaginal births, one was 4 days past due and the second was induced on the due date. Baby #1 was 8 lbs 4 ounces. The second was 9 lbs 4 oz.

My doc told me the shorter you are the more likely you are to go into preterm labor due to the shorter length of your pelvis. Ask her OB.

Not as far as I know. My grandma is only 4' 9" and she had 7 kids (one is a set of twins) and as far as I know none of them were early. My great grandma is also short too.
