My husband and i were in debate about this. Often men look at me from across the room and bow their head down. I find this happens when I look really nice....I asked my husband what this means when the guys old and young do this to me. I asked my husband if he does this to women, he said yes...I think you guys do this to someone who looks "HOT", but my husband said he does it because if you look at someone from across the room its uncomfortable unless you bow your head at them. He refused to say its because the girl is hot. SO, I want to know why do men do this to girls across the room, what does it mean, and do you do this to girls that you think are sexy or hot?

Both of you are right...it's a sign ( sometimes unconsciously rendered) of approval on a visual level, and too, it's more polite than continuing to have a fixed-gaze gawk at a lady from across the room.

It's is the first step of an acknowledgment that there is something attractive about you and the person has mentally undressed you. The sub-consciousness of a person will make them turn away, avoid additional eye contact and then bow their head. I can admit that I've done this many times, without even knowing I'm doing it or have done it.

Bottom line..... You're Attractive!

Yes its a form of respect for being in an uncomfortable stare and thats all

but true to fact most men don't stare unless the girl is hot

Hi,
Good for you!!!!!!
I think your description above have to do with being a gentleman; one time i was dating a Dr; we went out to dinner, i excused myself to go to the bathroom; and when i came back to the table; he greeted me and stood up for me to seat down; to this date; that episode still is very vivid in my mine. {I love a true genteman}
in answer to your question; I think it's
a form of respect an acknowledgment; that you look terrific, just like a lady should look.
Men are visual creatures and it;'s pleasent to the eye to see someone so beautiful; that someone makes such an effort to look like a lady. Men get tired of seeing women not dressed up or take the time to look their best .
keep it up!!! by the way ;your husband should be very proud.

i think you sound a little conceded but maybe its because its respect for when your with your husband and he knows that. Its a little rude to stare at someone if their with someone...
