I don't hide my age. Although, especially in America it seems that 'age' is a dirty word. For many years this countries women have been led to believe that they have to conform to the ideal of beauty created by some talking-head on Madison Avenue. All for profit, of course.

I believe we are responsible for how we age, and I believe that means getting our minds right first. I don't think about my 'age'. I am what I am. My mind is as fresh and alive as when I was 'young'. I don't think of myself as over 50, when I do have to think about it, I still think ,and rather, see myself in my 20's. I try to keep myself fit, but for myself, not for anyone else. I have many things that I want to do yet in life and you have to be healthy to do anything. I love long hair on women, so I have very long hair even though general thinking is that women my age should have short, man-style haircuts that I loathe.

I'm a woman, and even now, I'm lovely, alive and have a lot to offer as well as a lot to do.

Many women equate getting older with getting uglier.
