would you hire a lawyer from a non-aba school... even if they went to a competitive one like the massachusetts school of law?

I would be hesitant. But, if he/she passed the bar, I would be willing to try. I guess it would depend upon my situation.

If I needed a will, for example, I think this lawyer would be fine.
If I were on trial for a capital crime, I may want an ABA Accredited, Bar Passing Lawyer with a specialty in Criminal Law.

If he's passed the bar and has a good, solid reputation, maybe even an AV peer rating or if, too new, has good standing with the State and local Bar Associations, that is ALL that matters.
