It seems that the predominant answers are related to money. :)

I certainly know that money can be a very good thing, but I'm really seeking unusual answers here.

Thank you for any, and all answers!! :)

All the children, in all countries, have enough food to eat today, and will have always.

There's enough food and safe water for all people and all animals.

There's no more war ~ anywhere!

There's cure and prevention for cancer, Aids and all diseases.

All people are free to express their opinions and feelings ~ with respect and consideration for others ~ and no one will go to jail or will be killed for that.

There's understanding, love and good will among all human beings.

All animals are free and live at their natural habitats.

We all are taking very good care of our Earth, using the best of the human knowledge, and respecting and loving all living creatures.

I'm sure I'll think of much more answers to your excellent question as soon as I submit my answer, Caroline, but I'd be happy enough with these news! :)

I know this sounds very shallow, but winning the lottery! Why? Because there's so much I want to do, but don't have the money to do it. I would end up giving the majority of it away to friends & family. But I would also use it to benefit lots of other people in my community through my church. I want to open a soup kitchen, making sure that people who didn't have enough food would get at least one good meal a day. I would open a thrift shop, and help people make sure they had good clothes for their families, allowing those who are in need to shop free, even household items. There are so many needs, and I want to make a difference where I live. <*)))><

The best news I could receive today other than winning the lottery because that would make my life, but to only make the rest of my day would be if I received a letter in the mail from and old friend telling me that they found my address and have been wondering how I have been and how life has turned out for me. That would definitely MAKE my day and put a smile on my face!

I'd be so happy n my day would be MADE if my closest and dearest friend who I totally adore just called to say that she was thinking of me. Not sure if that is considered news but it would be unexpected cuz she's not really the type to express herself in that way.

If I heard a cold front was coming and tomorrow would be a nice 70 degrees would be some great news to my ears also!

And my day would be made if another friend of mine got her internship that she has been waiting so long to get.

That I won an all exclusive 14-day vacation for 4 to some exotic island or a tropical cruise. While, of course, getting paid at my work and not using my vacation days! Man life would be good! Thanks for the smile!

Peace in the middle east... oh, who am I kidding? Lottery. Or a big inheritance from some long lost relative.

p.s. I think it's funny that the guy below me wants us to "leaned" English. He may have done it on purpose but I sincerely doubt it. Oh the irony.

All my first thoughts have already been mentioned, soooo, my choice is that every person on the planet would take responsibility for protecting our earth. With actions, not just lip service or waiting for someone to wave a magic wand.
