Ever since the US stopped throwing people in jail (or executing them) for treason and/or sedition, we've had no end of problems. We should enforce these laws.

Japan did not attack us because we attacked them first. This analogy does not apply to our fight against terriorism in the middle east. The terriorists will attack us again if we give them a chance to do so.
