The ones in her class and the friends she kept from previous classes.

The more friends she has going into HS, the better. HS is hard enough.

Usually a question like this is dictated by the parents of the birthday kid. It depends on space and money available, and the number of guests who actually might show up, according to most parents I know.

In a situation like this, the child's opinion varies, or so I've seen. Most people want to invite every good friend they have at the moment, but some choose to have a small party with only close (or "best") friends.

Overall I'd say it depends on two things: the attitude of the person(s) throwing the party, and the mindset of the birthday child. In some cases it may be a cultural issue also, such as the Latin tradition of a quinceañera for a fifteen-year-old girl. Such parties are usually attended by a mix of extended family AND friends of the birthday girl, of both genders.

Hope this helps you!

depends on if it's a slumber party or not.
I'd say as many as the facility could hold and the refreshments can provide. The more the merrier I always say.
