The best software for completely deleting unnecessary data from the hard disk is the Disk Cleanup program found under System Tools on the Start button.

If there are important data in your harddisk, you better delete them with a software like http://www.stellarinfo.com/file-eraser.htm .
Deleting data from the recycle is a not a safe method for data removal. It increases the vulnerability of your confidential and sensitive data files.
The only way to make sure that the deleted data is not recoverable is to use a secure data destruction utility that destroys the data by overwriting and replacing the hard disk surface with random data.
