Condi aside, I wonder how many black Repubes are out there. Not as many as white Dems, I'm sure.

It seems to me that when blacks sell out and become Republicans, they suffer an influx of johnny-come-lately white supporters. It's as if the whites are glad the black has become their servant and no longer holds himself as a servant to black causes.

Yes, it is okay - and there are many African-Americans who are. The Republicans were called the Party Of Lincoln and had many black voters. Today's Black leadership, with people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are influential with the black voters and people like them encourage blacks to support Democrat candidates. Most middle-class African-Americans do vote for the Republicans. Because of the Democrat position on such things as abortion and gay marriage, many African-American ministers vote and urge their membership to vote for Republicans.

That is a really prejudice question. One that is most often presented by the Jesse Jackson types who have made a vocation of race being a factor in political party determination. People chose their political party based on how that party reflects their personal beliefs. You may find ethnic factors in the statistical make up of a given party but that should be because their political positions are best reflected in that party.
I really find the suggestion that ‘Condi” or any other black person who has selected to be a Republican is some how not really black or not black enough. That kind of thinking is reflective of the slave masters like Jesse Jackson who just do not believe that a real black person is capable of making choices without their guidance.

Prejudice has no place in America or American politics.

Generally black people are democrats because of their low income and social class, but rich black people like Bill Cosby are Republicans.

I'll have to ask:

J. D. Watts (former Congressman OK)

Colin Powell

Former Senator Edward William Brooke III (MA)

Alan Keyes

Just to name a few.

Of course its OK. Last time I checked, the republicans weren't a "whites only" party.

It is "OK" for ANY person or party, to vote for who and what is in their best interests. Donot become a slave to those that would control and use you. By all means use that voting power to rid yourself of those that dont keep their promises.
