In today's society it seems that we tend to gravitate to the net. Does anyone truly read anymore...from the hardback of softback variety? If so, what?

All these answers from people who love to read are wonderful! So I wanted to say Thanks for asking the question.

Yes, I read a lot too. I started when I was 5 and I have never stopped since. In fact, I'm so used to reading on the bus, on the train, even while walking down the sidewalk, that I can't go to sleep unless I read something. Of course, sometimes I get hooked in the book and I don't get much sleep, LOL.
I have a whole wall of my bedroom turned into a library, and I've invaded the rest of the house too. Luckily I'm the only one who needs that much room for books.
I enjoy reading almost everything, from scientific essays to novels, fantastic literature, and everything by Stephen King. I was a huge Agatha Christie fan when I was little (in fact I still enjoy her style).
Hardback or softback, that's a good question. I prefer paperbacks that I can take everywhere to read, because they're easier to carry, usually smaller and don't weigh so much. And also because I don't feel bad when the books end up a little "wilted" from traveling. But of course, some books deserve to be more expensive hardbacks.

I read a lot.... All sorts of things...Janet Evanovich (hilarious)James Patterson, Sue Grafton, Dean Koontz, Marian Keyes, Jennifer Weiner (Good In Bed was a fabulous book..) RIght now I am reading a non fiction book called, Confessions of a Recovering Slut, It sounds terrible, but it is hilarious, and has nothing to do with being a slut. She also wrote Bleachy Haired Honky B**tch, which again is just a name she was called once and not what the book is about..:)

I do! I love reading still, read a new book every week. Unfortuanetly, most of the books aimed towards 20 something women are cliche, drippy chick lit and it'd be nice if we had something to read besides the hunt for a husband or perfect stiletto, etc.

The last book I read was "The Second Wives Club" which was total chick lit but reasonably entertaining :)

I am in the middle of reading Great Expectations - I just moved states a couple of months ago and have been so stressed that I haven't picked it back up! But yes, there will always be people that still read. I love the classics.

Absolutely. I have three bookcases of books, and it's always growing.

I have all sorts of books... Ayn Rand, Stephen King, Jean Shepherd, Douglas Adams, Hemingway, Faulkner, Arthur Miller... the list goes on and on...

It's a shame that most people only read what Oprah tells them to. :P
