Alaska is a great state. There are alot of pros and cons depending one what you enjoy. Its good for fishing, camping, hunting, hikeing, fourwheelers, snowmachines you name it you can pretty much do it in Alaska. There is no state income tax and in some cities no sales tax. You get paid to live there aka the PFD, if you intend to stay there. If you enjoy snow its great you have it from about november to march. The summers are beautifull!!! Its def. worth it if you just want to be there for the summer.
Cons you will have to get used to the long days in summer and long nights in winter, which could cause depression. It takes a little time to get used to it, the cost of living is alot higher because everyting has to be shipped to Alaska. Its cold for more than half the year. hot is upper 70's low 80's cold is -30 all with NO humidity! Its DRY desert there. this is in the southcentral locations. (anchorage and wasilla/palmer). there is just some. Do some research its just pretty much what you enjoy and what you dont.

It's a fantastic place to visit, though I don't think living there year round would be all that great. Besides, it rains way too much in southern Alaska.

It depends on who you ask. It is a beautiful place with lots of hunting and fishing. But some will say that the always having sun and then not having enough is depressing.
Everyone that I know says that they loved it though.
