The US has been horrible at trying to affect Cuba's leadership since we have taken the least successful action with a communist country possible. The best thing we did when it came to engaging communism in the post world war 2 world was trade. Introducing those countries to American products was a way of using man's flaw that makes communism not work. Greed there were times when people would pay hundreds of dollars to buy levi jeans. With Cuba we've left it a closed system and allowed them to control the outside influences on the people.

Cubans aren't stupid, and when that guy finally croaks, I think you'll see a new Cuba...if not, hey, it's an island, who cares? I wish em the best, and there's no law saying they have to be progressive, and I hope someday all that stuff will all change. But, again, it's an island, with no future in the modern world unless they build one...and, it's a hurricane magnet.

The U.S. has done a wonderful job, thats why Castro has been in power since EISENHOWER was in office. That means he outlasted Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, and Bush Jr. We showed him, we gave him 47 years to rule the country, now we're kicking him out...yeah right. I think he's kind of like a cockroach or Keith Richards, he just cannot be killed.

Nope. They put those sanctions aginst Cuba 40 years ago or so. See, we don't do business with communist countries named Cuba. But China and Vietnam are communist countries and we are trading hot an heavy with them. Don't make any sense to me.
