It's like you dont have to have talent anymore or something. All of the record execs are looking for the least amount of talent possible and the dirtiest looking people they can find to give a record deal to. What's the deal? I hate it!

Reply to spacegirl: I DO listen to Audioslave, infact they're one of my favorites because they do actually have talent and something to say and Chris Cornell isnt dirty, he washes his hair and looks pretty clean if you ask me. They rock!

Carbon copy money makers. Pop music is always worn out. I listen to stuff that they wont play on the radio, because its not pop and its to long. Like Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian. For a longer list check my Yahoo 360. These groups have talent, unlike most of the simpleton groups of today.

They push out crap because the main ones buying music is teeny-boppers. Rappers, and Pop singers have the nerve to call themselves musicians even though they cant play an instrument on stage. The real musicians wont be found on MTV. Even rock stinks these days. You have teenagers with high pictched voices complaining about the world, and calling themselves emo. The days of real music are gone no doubt, but there is good music still alive. You just have to hunt it. Good luck, and turn your radio off, and stay away from MTV.

Yes, it is true ... it is like everyone today just gets a band put around them, someone to play a guitar, a song writer, equipment to make their voice sound better, and now you have the next big thing!

That is why I gave up on all English music ... like modern rock (which use to be great alternative) and even country has sold out ... I now listen to Pop en Español and it is really good, but you have to understand Spanish

Its because music producers are getting so dang picky, and if they haven't found a talent by the end of the day, they choose one person at random ( not caring if they have talent), hand them a microphone, and start up the voice synthesizers.

MTV changed everything. Suddenly the music wasn't as importnat as looking good was. Take for example Milli Vanilli. Every one loved their music, as long as it was the two guys that every one saw on MTV. Would the original makers of the songs have been as popular had we seen them?

There is good music being made out there, but you aren't likely to hear it on radio. Radio is part of the problem.

because no one really plays music and writes good lyrics coz mtv is about a pretty face and big boobs and a big bunch in your jeans it seems that if video would never have been invented then the likes of folks like heart and jethro tull would stilll be coming out but why try to be an actual artist when all you really have to do is be pretty and stupid

they do that with individual singers. any black man thinks he can rap. and white blonde haired girl thinks she can be like paris hilton if she dresses like a tramp

the real talent today is with rock bands. it involves the ability to play an instrument and still sing.

the fact that bands (Fall Out Boy, Panic!, etc.) get so much publicity on MTV and all that disgusts me. they were so much better when nobody knew who they were. they were focused on thier music and not on the fame.

well thats ur opinion, i find music kinda positive these days from my view, most people just look at it as thought everyone is just saying whatever on record but i can totally relate to everything these days bcuz thats exactly how it is where i'm from, theres no other way to explain it, and it might be garbage to ppl bcuz they haven't experienced these things for themselves but ppl like myself have whether it's from party songs or the songs that ppl think are soo negative.

Don't listen to American music. Listen to stuff from European indie labels. Coercion Records has some pretty good acts, and free mp3s.
