I've come across more and more people complaining about our Beautiful country; more specifically Americans.

Why don't they leave? Why do they enjoy the drinking water, opportunity, fresh air (except for cities), and ourbeautiful freedom?

I was shocked in 2001 when, living in an International dormitory, two female Korean students stood there are laughed while watching the trade center burn. I was very emotional and asked: What is wrong with you? Dont you have any respect? They immediatly said "sorry" but continued to enjoy our educational systems.

Meanwhile while I was in Korea I was welcomed by: We hate Americans, (children and adults), men on subways constantly trying to touch me and my hair, and getting very sick from the pollution, water and environment. Did I complain to the Koreans? No. I went home.

What gives me the most anger is when fellow Americans complain ! Did you have anybody die in a war? grandfathers, cousins? I DID. even Iraq.

Why do they stay?????

YES i know that part of our freedom is freedom of speech. Im talking about people who live here and complain: WHY don't they go to another country???? if its that bad???

And if they are from another country they should show respect and zip it. In China if I did this I could be arreseted and tortured.

People who have left their countries to enjoy the freedoms of America should not complain. If they don't like living here, they should go back to where they came from. I am not originally from this country, and I enjoy living here. I have made wonderful friends, I have a good job, etc. (I am a legal immigrant)

I have to say that it is kind of like the jealous poor person that is jealous of the rich people. We have a lot of things that other countries do not. We have freedom and rights that they have never known. Now why people really hate us is our government. They look at our governement and judge everyone, which is unfortuantly sad. They are ignorant just like the americans here. So it isn't just people from other countries. The people out there burning our flag need to go to another country and live and then they will see how good they have it here. I may not be proud of everything that our government has done, but I am very proud to be a American.

As for your 2001 experience I had a similar one. I was at a dinning hall in college and there was some middle eastern people mocking how people died and laughing. I was so sick to my stomach when I saw it. I could not believe anyone would be mocking death.

If you shut-off your emotions and analyze the situation, you'll find you do the same thing everyday.

Korean people (or anyone else for that matter) engaging in funny, personal conversation while you are in shock of what you just saw, is no different from you engaging in funny conversation (and personal) conversation with your friends while Louisiana was devastated.

People staying in the US while they complain about the country is nothing different from you going to college or work, while you have a long list of complaints. It is not for you to tell them to leave.

People have different view points. When disaster does not hit home, the importance is less. Some people complain about the problems while enjoying the benefit.

Once you step out of the US and step into mono-racial cultures, you become an object of curiosity. If you don't like it, you have a perfect right to leave - which you did.

You need to widen your view points. US and its affairs are not the most important thing in the world. Not everybody shares the same value from you. While you are free to express yours, others are free to do whatever they want to do.

You also had a perfect right to leave the area and not hear the conversations.

When I went to a foreign country the first time in my 20's I noticed that the Americans were very rude to the foreigners. They had this attitude and said it outloud even that Americans should be treated better because we are better. I found that very arrogant. My parents were starving children in war torn countries and for that reason I was raised in America as a humbled person. I am proud of my birth heritage as well as my genetic heritage. Yet, every time I go out of the country, I am shocked by my fellow Americans and as I am a teacher, I am shocked by my students. They learn their beliefs at home. Yes, we are a great country, but we became great with the help of many immigrants who wanted better lives. No, we don't want to be stepped on, but a little humility would be nice.

See other answers in regards to this question. If you are for the current administration that is ok, it is also ok to be against it. As well we don't hate america, it's the people who have control and run things.

As for foriegners, you are extremly shortsighted. No one will forego money and a safe enviroment because they hate the place that has those things. It's supply and demand, we have what they want. In turn they spend much of their waking time hating what we have, because they can't understand jelousy in context.

Someon has died in every major war America has had since the Revolutionary war in my family. We still reserve the right to oppose the party in power, no matter what. You either are an ideolog or have no clue so thus your family died in vain.

I dont know. I love being an American. I have left the country several times and I can truly say that there is no place like home.

People dont realize it but, we are truly blessed to be citizens of such a well organized, democratic country.

Sure, we have some problems but, thats still no reason to complain.

I get annoyed with that too. If you don't like this country then get the hell out! There are some things our government has done that I really don't agree with, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else! We have so much freedom here. I think people stay because they're too chicken to stand up and take action-- they say they hate America, yet they've never been anywhere else so they don't even know.

Packing up and moving to another country and getting citizenship isn't as easy as moving to a new apartment complex down the street.

I think most of these complainers probably have never been out of the country for any extended period of time, and they're taking the U.S. for granted. My brother-in-law is on his way home from Yemen (he was teaching there) and, while he's going to miss Sana'a terribly, he said he's also looking forward to the "comforts of home."

Well i think the people who say things like "we hate Americans are very naive". I do not think they can generalize a statement like that. I think what they mean is that they do not like American foreign policy - which i think is different from loving or hating Americans.

I love Americans, the people are fantastic to be with and i suppose their hospitality is second to none.

Sorry to hear that you have lost family in any human conflict.

Be strong

I love America as well and I hear what you mean.

Remember that we have a constitutional right to coplain about not only ourselves, other Americans, but also about our government and it's functioning.

If I were to disagree with the wa or our Government;s policy, I have a right to express that and attempt to change that.
