Well, the point that the BUMPS serve is just to be the meeting place of the soft and hard palate. The palates themselves serve purposes though. The soft palate is important in regards to your breathing and is important to singing as well. It rises when you yawn and creates more space in your mouth (which singers aim for to get a more resonant sound) and helps regulate air flow. Your hard palate probably serves to keep your teeth and jaw in place.

You have two palates in your mouth, a hard one and a soft one. The bumps that you are referring to is the place where these two palates meet! They do not really serve a purpose.

Actually, I don't have two bumps. Have they always been there?
Have you asked someone else about these bumps? Do they hurt at all? I wish I could help you. You may check out a dental atlas at the library and check in that. Otherwise, I personally am unable to help you. Sorry.

That is just part of your palate. You have several things like that on your body, that to my knowledge serve no purpose. Take your uvula(the hangy thing in your throat) I dont think it really has a purpose, but its there.

Those two bumps are called tonsils. Many are removed when the kid is young or when they are infected. Otherwise they just sit there and do nothing.

Just part of your palate probably. If they cause pain or any other complications, consult a professional.
