On yahoo site it comes up as host is in the black?

"In the black" means they are making a profit. "In the red" means they are losing money. This is from accounting practices. When a ledger shows a positive amount, it is written in regular black ink. If the balance is less than zero, it is written in red ink.

being in the red (red ink in ledger books) means you are losing money. being in the black (black ink in ledger books) means you are making money.
