It depends where you go in Kenya. But, generally speaking, Kenya has a temperate climate. I was there this time last year and it was lovely weather. July and August are the coollest months, so September is slightly hotter. The coast is hot and humid and the interior (eg. Masai Mara) is a dry heat. The northern region (eg. Samburu) is the most arid and the hottest. The morning and evening game drives we went on in the Masai Mara (south west, bordering Tanzania) started off cold and we were wrapped up in jumpers/coats. But as the morning progressed we stripped down to T-Shirts. Take a couple of jumpers for mornings and nights - otherwise it's shorts and T-Shirts weather. Wear layers and you can't go wrong!

Kenya has the equator running right through it. So it shouldn't vary. I think that most of the interior is about 6000 feet above sea level, so that will reduce the temperature from what you would normally find on the equator. Also, the air will be a little rarified.

It dependsw where you are, lots of Kenya is at altitude like Niarobi so it is temperate at around 20c In game reserves it can get up hotter but be aware the sun is strong.

I'd wear long thin trousers and thin long sleaved shirts with a cap and sun glasses.
