Because bin Laden's family and the Bush family have been doing business together for decades (read "Fortunate Son" by James H Hatfield).
This is probably one of the reasons the Bush Gang order our troops to "stand down" and let him escape when we had him surrounded a few years ago.
The Republican Party, historically, leads our nation by fear. They need a "bogeyman" to "protect" us from and also to justify the money they squander on overpriced defense systems.
It's rare to see a Republican politician that isn't a wealthy overprivleged snob.
I often joke about Osama bin Bush hidin' out in Crawford with his turbine stuck under his ten-gallon hat. Georgie knows where he is and is probably sending him kidney treatments in the shipment of WMDs we're sending to Israel.

They know very well where he is.He is in Saudi Arabia at the Holy sites.Your government acts like they don't know because the American people would demand action.They believe they can not afford to attack such an important religious site for Muslims.They feel this would help alkaida and lead to civil war in Saudi Arabia.A civil war that Osama would win without US/coalition involvement.Your country is still too depend end on Saudi Arabia(oil) and therefor they act like they don't know where he is.Bringing this out would lead to big protest by your people and your government chooses to keep it secret rather than deal with that.
Bin Laden wears in one of his latest video's clothes that are usually worn at the Holy sites in Mecca.For any religious Muslim it would be an insult if these clothes were worn anywhere else,so it's quiet clear where he is.
International politics is not so easy as it may look at first sight.

Because they aren't looking hard enough. I'm sure he's out there somewhere. If the US went after Osama like they did Saddam, he'd either be publically dead, or in prison somewhere with a boyfriend named Biff.

Rumsfeld has not committed enough troops, not at the beginning, not now.... we need to go in there like we mean it, no like a policeman who thinks an officer of the law deserves total respect and the perp will surrender willingly.
