Are you paying her to use the car (basically a rental agreement) or are you buying the car from her and making payments? (or did you make a deal with her to take over the payments)

If you are "renting" the car from her, I would find myself an alternative form of transportation, because she is most likely not paying the car payment, and you are going to find the car gone when it is spotted by a repo man!

If you made a deal to assume the payments, you need to make that deal official with the finance company, and you make the payment directly to them.

It is not your car if she did not sign the title to you. Make sure that you do not leave anything in the car whenever it is parked, because you can not even get your stuff back, she would have to go to the repo yard to get any personal property out of her repossessed vehicle.

Ask your friend what is going on, and be prepared to find another vehicle.

Who are you giving the money too? If you paying her, then that might be a little suspect. You can try and find out where she bought the car from. If the title is still in her name then you can go downtown to the registration place.

I would get that taken care of ASAP. And make sure the car isnt in your name because reposession will mess up your credit badly.

The best thing to do is call the people who financed the car and ask if they have the car up for reposession. Then the next best thing to do is get the car transfered in your own name!!! why pay for it and its in a friends name? If you cant get the car transfered in your own name STOP PAYING ON IT!!! Without the car in your name you have NO legal rights. If your credit is shot and you cant get this car in your name try for another car...bad credit means nothing nowadays and almost anyone can get financed but the interest will be high...you proved you can afford a car by paying for your friends car!! GET THE CAR IN YOUR OWN NAME PLEASE!!

if your paying your friend your probably screwed cuz it sounds like she is not giving the money to the car lot....but if your paying directly to the car lot you should have reciepts and call them...if they are wanting to repo the car cuz she isnt paying.....call them and see if you can work out arrangements and get the car trannsferred to you cuz in my experience they dont really want the car back just their money so give it a try but reall soon because you could come out of the store or work and the car be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd call the loan company and find out. If the car has been tagged for repossession you're throwing money down a rat hole unless you want the car and can make arrangements to assume the loan.

Better talk to your friend about it, and really get her to level with you. If it is being searched for, then you could park it somewhere...while you're at work, in a restaurant, shopping, etc....and have the repo company pick it up, and you'd be stuck without a way home.

You better ask her what's going on or if the car is being repo'd and the car is confiscated at your place, you may not have a friend anymore.
Not sure if you are giving her money for the car payment but you should get your own car and make your own payments so it's yours. Otherwise she gets a free car if you pay it off for her and you have nothing.

If the Repo-Man is looking for it, then you are up the creek without a paddle.

How did you allow yourself to get in such a mess? If the repro people are looking for it, they'll find it. Just let them take it. More likely you'll just find it missing one day.

Find out who holds the title and contact them asap. What kind of friend would treat you like this?
