A harlequin is the narrator of a story, most often a clown or the comic relief. Such as Puck, in A Misummer Nights Dream by Shakespeare.
It's an odd term for them to use, but that's what it means.

it's kinda like supposed symbolize the opposite of testosterone which as you know is a hormone
So guys act on hormones girls act on emotions
They always clash..
so saying testosterone boys and harlequin girls hold Ur lover close is kinda ironic but the song is cynical about love ne way since it's about a cheater

harlequin is a girl dressed up in a fancy circus outfit .... kinda like the cirque du soleil things .... www.cirquedusoleil.com .... watch some of the performances and look at there costumes !!!
