I've been interested for years on how to speak Japanese. I'm sick of the silly little dubbed animes and I don't like reading all the time. So does anyone know any place online that I can learn Japanese for free.

I don't know how I found this site, but it has helped me retain Japanese. You should start by learning the hiragana and katakana, and then vocabulary. The practice sheets are printable and can help you practice writing. This might be a bit too big of a step at first, so you may want to come back to this site once you use other things on your own to learn the writing system and learn how to read it. Hope this helps!

If your willing to put money into it (OR time finding it and torrenting it from someone on the internet) the Rosetta Stone program is fun and easy.
