My mind. It would be a shame to lose any of the senses but could live without them. But to lose the ability to be a rational human being would be awful. I would also hate to live without my family and finance but still would vote my mind as the most important thing that I couldn't live without.

Nothing: the will to survive is the highest instinct in all humans. Even stripped bare of everything that gives life meaning, we still cling to life itself. It wouldn't be a happy existence, it wouldn't be comfortable, but the desire to live would be paramount, and nothing else is required.

Well- taking for granted that the "basic elements" are food, water, and shelter - I could not live without my family.

Books, books, books. Fiction, non-fiction, mystery, romance, historical fiction -- actually, anything in print, including newspapers of all kinds, dumb flyers that come in the mail, stuff people hand out on street corners, scraps of printed paper the wind leaves on the front lawn, parking tickets and labels on cans.

electricity!!! it shut off after a storm a while ago, and theres no computer, no hot meals, no hair dryer, no lights, no fridge, no nothing! All the stores in my area were shut down within half an hour! It is really crazy how much we depend on it!
