good question i excluded single musicians and went JUST with bands hear they are:
10. the Beach Boys...very innovative band and very talented
9. Led Zeppelin... blues infused heavy rock. the music is still influential to many bands today
8. Green Day... a modern "punk" rock band they brought punk music to the mainstream and continue to grow and mature as a band
7. The traveling wilburys...tom petty, george harrison, bob dylan, roy orbison, and jeff lynn were the members need i say more
6. The Bee Gees...many bands and musician use there music they defined dance music in the 70s
5. The Indigo girls... just two singers but they revolutionized the music industry for women
4. The Eagles...easily one of the most underrated bands ever. all of them are musically talented and the songs can still be heard over the airwaves today
3. U2...Arguably one of the greatest bands ever. their music transcends time and they connect with audiences from everywhere
2. The rolling stones...they have phenominal staying power. the blues infused contry style rock continually sells out stadiums everywhere.
1. No surprise here...THE BEATLES... they were pioneers in rock and roll and the music still connects with audiences and inspires musicans everywhere

Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Bad Company, Any band that had/has Eric Clapton in it, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones THINK they are so I'm not going to name them, lol ZZ Top. Not neccesarily in that order.
