I'm not too sure what I Y O stands for... although it is bothering me now, and I have to figure it out. (I'm a bit slow sometimes)

But my all time favorite piece of classical music is from the Opera Lakme, and it is the aria called "The Flower Duet."

My second runner up is Norma By Bellini, and the aria is Casta Diva.

My favorite PIECE of classical music (Non Opera) is, and always was and will forever be... Moonlight Sonata.

As far as classical goes, does opera still count? The "Flower Duet" from Lakme by Leo Delibes always gets my heart a flutter. The entire opera, The Marriage of Figaro, is beautifully composed. And anything by Richard Wagner can catch my attention and hold it for hours on end. His version of Tristan and Isolde always brings me to tears.

Mahler's 2nd Symphony: The Resurrection. It symbolises so many things, and represents one of the greatest romantic symphonies ever written. The choral writing has the power of Wagner and the heart of Beethoven. It's a special work.

Loads of it does!
I love Mozart but also Beethoven, which is not to say that I don't get a BIG buzzz out of LOADS of other composers too.
Think, the Glorious 9th for starters, or The Planets suite (Holst), or Pachelbell's cannon, or.....
Loads of stuff!

At the end of the damnation of Faust by Berlioz, the almost carnival-abandon in the music during the descent, scares the libretto out of me.
