Yes Wendy there is.

The public holiday of 'Anti Mattress day' is coming up very quickly.

On the fourth of September each year all stores nationwide (UK) are unallowed to sell sleeping aids in the form of a mattress. Any shape colour or form.

Breaking this law is punishable by the order of death, and the execution is to be carried out by the crushing of the body within a mattress, you are basically the filling in a big mattress shaped sandwich.

Its a bi-law that was never quashed, dating back hundreds of years to 1988.

I may be wrong, but I think you'll find I'm not.

LOL. There are probably days that mattresses are not on sale. For instance the day I went to buy a mattress, they were not on sale. So maybe it's just the day I go.

My guess is that mattresses are really never on sale, it's just that it's not an everyday (no pun intended) search item, so we don't know what a mattress normally goes for since we don't window shop for them everyday. So they just SAY their on sale. We don't know any better. They're tricking us into thinking they're on sale.

It seems like furniture and mattress places are always having their "lowest sale prices ever" or their "annual super-discount"....All you can do to try to but one is watch their prices for several months and jump in next time it goes low.

No I dont think, I worked in retail before and was in charge of marketing and I learned that allot of businesses advertise their products without lowering the price.......since people see it in the newspaper-TV....they assume its a sale.....the purpose is to get you through the door ...so that they can talk you into buying their product.

That's pretty funny! That's actually the kind of stuff I usually think about, and people tell me I have too much time on my hands.
Thanks for the probing question. I'm surprised I haven't already asked it.
