Detroit Tigers & their pitching. The rookie Verlander is a 14 game winner. Bonderman, Rogers & the other guy Roberson (?) are all 10 game winners.

The new addition of the slugger, Casey, at first base, seals the DEAL. Brandon Inge, the 3rd baseman will be the World Series MVP.

I am trying not to get my hopes up too high; but I think The Tigers have a good shot of going deep.

Of course, there is still 2 months left in the season and anything can happen.

I am hoping that a team from The Central wins the wild card.

I'd rather have The Tigers play whomever wins The West.

If The Tigers play Boston or NY for The ALCS...it will be a nail biter and go 7 games.

Pitching will win that series.

I think that the Yankees now have a better chance now that they've acquired Bobby Abreu and Cory Lidle. Both will be great additions to the team. There are always several other teams to watch for, though. The Tigers, the Cardinals, the Whitesox, the Mets, and the Astros are all great teams and even though a few of them (Cards and Astros) are on losing streaks at the moment, you can always expect them to bounce right back. This early in the season it's tough to name just one team who will win the World Series.

I don't know about the word series, but I think that the Tigers will win the World Series. I have a lot of hope for the Cardinals, but I just don't think they have what it takes to win it this year.

Also, to people who come on here and say "WHO CARES". What the hell are you doing on a baseball forum if you don't care?!

You have the Tigers part right. Their pitching is top-class, and the offense gets hits and runs when it counts most.

The National League is wide-open, but my pick is the Mets. They've been consistent all year, and their lineup is lethal with Reyes, Wright, Delgado, and the other supporting cast. Their pitching is a little shaky, but so is the Cards and Padres.

My wager are the Yankees. The Yankees have an excellent offense, yet they might nevertheless might desire to overcome Bostons Bull Pen, the Angels rotation, the Indians youthful expertise, and the Tigers dominance.
