Actually Ahmadinajad is a bit less authoritarian than your make him out to be. Of course Iran is going to be the near-east super power. The progress will come when they are given the bomb. They will need to recognize Isreal for it, and in turn neutralize Isreals own bomb (mutual recognized destruction). The population in Iran is considerably young. They are yearning for what it is that americans have, only they want to keep their culture and religion intact. The problem is with the corruption in Iran, this causes the people to support hardliners, that in turn subjugate the people of the country further. Iran has the natural resources to dwarf the saudi's, they need to bring their country into the 2000's with the capital they get from their natural gas and oil reserves. Also a pipeline traveling from west to east through Iran makes for an interesting scenario when you look at the map. soon they will have to cooperate and what it looks like will happen is a shift to a more middle eastern alliance headed by Iran, which will give them less room to be so extreme.

He very well might be the next Hitler. America must wake up and smell the oil. We are supporting people like him with our spending for our automotive habits. The money is only helping to give this man more power.
Until the balance of trade goes the other way, eventually this country won't have the power to be anything except a slave economy. With the baby boomers aging faster every day, only the illegal immigrants will be controlling this country. I fear that they won't have my best interests at heart. Also, their educational level may not be sufficient to keep our military power as the best in the world. Remember what Teddy Roosevelt said, "Talk softly, but carry a big stick."
