Admittedly, I tend to give long answers. But I tend to only answer questions I can give a good bit of information on (I don't look things up - I only answer things I know..). I'm not trying to be obnoxious or get the 'best answer'... just give the best and most thorough help I am able to provide.
Also, I don't know the art of brevity - a truth I will readily and openly admit.

I'm sorry that I write very long answers on things that I know. Sometimes I do go on and on, but that's because I don't want to miss anything that may be useful to that person. Also, I don't want stupid little girls who want to lose 30 pounds in a week hospitalized because they took some moron's advice by starving themsevles and inducing vomit every three hours so I give them sound health advice. There're also music questions that I know what to tell them, legal options, poker questions, things like that. So was this helpful or just boring?

I think it's a mix of trying to be helpful, trying to get the best answer since they've got the most information in their answer, or just being a jerk and posting everything they found on an entire link. I've seen 3 or 4 of those running around and it really pissed me off. One girl posted every single one of the 'S' names for a baby girl that she could find. And another guy posted 'DERAILED' with a zillion periods, one per line.

I love to get long answers as long as they are realted to my question or the question being asked..Sometimes I admit I give long ones but only if I have alot to say about the subject..=)

I dont' want to admit it cuz maybe they'll get angry but i don't really read those long answers. I think they're just trying to get that 10 point.

well helpful, otherwise why would they waste their time?
better than saying thanks, two points, like some rejects, even MORE a waste of time that is...and *completely* BORING
if i know the answer or have advice, i'll leave it, because thats was what they asked for.
