I think the Dr. will try to enhance your estrogen and progesterone production which helps you produce more than one egg. Then you get closer to ovulation they should perform serial ultrasounds daily during the week of ovulation in conjunction with blood work. Then when they have it fairly pinpointed to when you are going to ovulate, they wil recommend you and your partner return to the clinic and they will ask him for his sperm sample and take the sample for washing to separate the healthy spermatozoa from the weak ones. After this separating process the will use a small tube like with all the sperm and directly insert into your cervical - endometrial canal.

This process may require to be repeated more than once then after two to three procedures you will wait two weeks to take a pregnancy test

Good luck!

What Chris is describing is IVF... if your talking about IUI than this is the process... When doing IUI the dr will put you on clomid which helps you produce more than one egg.... As you get closer to your ovulation week they will monitor you by doing ultrasounds and blood work to see when and what day are you going to ovulate... Once they know when you going to ovulate then you and your partner will go in... They will ask you partner for his sperm and wash them (it's a process where they only take the good sperm) this usually takes an hour to do.... Once they're are ready they will call you in to do the insemination... they use a tube like with all the sperm and inserted directly up to you... Usually they have you come back the very next day to repeat the same procedures... then you'll need to wait two weeks to take a pregnancy test... Some women say it worked the first time.. but it usually takes the second or third time... Also keep in mind that since you're producing more than one egg.. there is a possibility for twins... I'm not sure how it would work with the egg donor....

Clinics protect donor identity according to the law. It's possible to get detailed info re the donors someplaces and other places not. The donors are screened regarding their health and selected according to the criteria provided by those wanting the service. The clinic helps the patient determine the best time to conceive and artificially inseminates then. This is a very simple, painless procedure. Some have used a turkey baster to do it themself.

I am not sure about artificial insemination but I do know a little about inter-uterin insemination. My wife and I tried to get pregnant some years ago. Simple procedure in the Doctors office. In and out in just a few minutes. It's not painful and some hospitals or Doctors can suggest donor cites where you can get donor sperm.

My friends just did it. First they had to go get the eggs. They took nearly 30 from her. From what she tells my wife it was alittle painful and painful afterwards for a few days. You then have to wait for the donor sperm to be inserted into the eggs and germinate. They watch them closely for a few days. Some will die off, some will be OK, but usually 8-10 will be perfect. From those they will choose 2, maybe 3, eggs to reinsert. The rest of the eggs will die off, or if they are really good and still surviving; you can freeze them for future use. You then wait for up to 2 weeks to see if your pregnant. Many people who do this have twins. Some have triplets. Multiples are very common. It cost them $12,0000 smackers for the procedure. Good Luck.
