If their partner in bed prefers the hair shaved off, a person will often do it to accomodate them.
Personally, I (female) do it because it is more comfortable. When there is hair, it itches, and often gets pulled a bit by my clothing. In a bathing suit, if you haven't shaved, the hair can stick out everywhere, and if there is a lot of it, it can look like you have male genetalia under your bottoms. It also helps a lot during menstruation, as menstrual blood can get into in the hair and dry there and is very painful to pull out.

but studies show that married women who shave off there pubic hair are more likly to divorce.
The pubic hair is supposed to collect oder and that oder attracts a male to a female... kind of like pharamones.

I shave my pubic hair because it makes me feel cleaner down there. My husband also does this but he isn't gay or anything of the sort contrary to what some believe.
It's hygenic - nothing wrong with it at all and it is more comfy feeling.

For the same reason that some men shave their beards, some women shave their armpits and legs, and most people cut and style their hair.
It simply looks better.
On a personal note, it also feels better when you don't have a bush acting like a razor wire barrier around the "goodie".

It's about vanity in some cases. I know men/women that do it so they can wear small tight bathing suits without having a bush of hair sticking out of the swim-suit.
I used to think it was just women that did it, but I'm learning more and more that men are also doing it. Heck, look at WalMart. They have a Nair for Men now.

Well, first off there is nothing wrong with not shaving and your partner should respect your desition.
I personally do shave because it makes me feel clean and better then not shaved.

So you don't have a bush when wearing a bikini and waxing hurts. -- well, thats what my friend says. I say its because your pubic hair causes smelly sweat which is discusting!

Because I like to have a nice, clean pallete for my boyfriend.
Hair harbors stank which equals no downtown for me. Plus, it looks so much better.

well definitely hygiene because there is less of on odor to be caught in the hair especially during that time of the month. and oral sex is much more pleasurable to you and your partner without a jungle
