Tears are an overflow of emotions from your body; they are helpful in releasing overwhelming emotions, so stopping them would be detrimental both to your physical and emotional health.
Now the question is how you avoid getting overwhelmed or rattled so easily, and how to retain your centre, learn to meditate that would help you stay calm and centered in your everyday life. It will also help you to detach and see things objectively rather than as a test of your self worth. Nothing is a life or death situation unless you make it one.

OK. you asked how to stop, not how to not be embarrassed or how to change your frame of mind..etc.
Try practicing what you are going to say a day before hand.
Do this in a space in your home that you consider monotonous and boring.
Practice what you will say over and over, until you feel the monotony of it is getting to you.
This should take the emotionality out of the issue for you when you decide to speak about it.
I am a crier too. At times there is no way around it, ie. watching a person say good bye to a beloved pet, or seeing a child do without, etc.
Practicing what I am going to say and then staying a step away from it -emotionally speaking- when I do decide to take up an issue has helped me immensely.
Go ahead, try it, I don't think you will be disappointed, at any rate; we will have no crying over spilled milk ;)

Im a very sensitive person too and at times the tears flow when i dont want them to, but what ive learned is to just let them flow, dont be embarassed because your sensitive, and people when they see those tears they tend to be more sympathetic and understanding because your not afraid to show how your really feeling. Just explain to your boss your upset right now and you cant help the tears, im sure theyll understand.

Sometimes you can't. Crying is a way of showing an emotion, you can't always hide that.. Try just feeling confident in what you are saying and think about no crying. Make yourself strong.

Practice discipline.
Start small.
Pick something that makes you cry that you can do by yourself.
PRACTICE crying less each time you do it.
It wont stop all at once.
Small steps will do.
Practice.....and be sure to REST between practices - its emotionally taxing.
You'll get there.
