What would you say were the differences and similarities between Americans and Britons?

One of my closer friends is British and he succintly ponts out that there are many differences between our cultures.

British people are more pragmatic about life and death.

Americans feel that death is optional and can be avoided if we acquire enough stuff or hold onto strong enough religious beliefs.

The side of the road we drive on, lol. But then again...that's a difference between America and everyone else in the world. We both speak English but have different accents and slang words.

It is said that the Americans and British are similar cultures separated by a common language. Think about it for a minute....

The only difference may be the different spellings for certain words.

Jail - Gaol
Tire - Tyre
Curb - Kerb
