Oh my gosh! I can't believe how many people got on their podium and lectured me about the evils of slacking at work. For your information, I am a student worker and I finish all my work very quickly. I have no work to do. I already do the jobs of about three student workers. For shame, all of you. You should know me better than that...oh wait...you don't know me. Okay well never mind then. I was just trying to be funny and light hearted with this question. I still love all of you!! SMOOCHIES!!!

here it is, just keep a secret:

1. always carry a piece of paper when walking the halls goofing off.

2. have open an official word or excel doc on ur pc, but behind it have ur fav surfing sites (including my 360 blog no doubt)

3. have ur other slacker friends collude with you. i.e, create phony meetings, get together and chat for an hour.

4. stay away from the obvious on-line slacker sites like myspace etc., they'll get you busted by i.s. filters.

5. always have a "project" on the back burner for access to easy excuses, " i gotta go to an offsite meeting to check on the progress of my "X" project".

6. buy the boss a cup of coffee or other fav beverage periodically. not too much, we all hate brown noses.

good luck and happy slacking.

If you work at a computer, play games that involve a lot of typing.
If you have to fill out paper work, why not brush up on those poetry and prose skills?
If you work in a super market, feign a limp and stock very, very slowly.
If you have to do hard labor, go to Mexico and find an illegal immigrant to look like you and do it while you get a tan somewhere more remote.

You should not slack off, if you do not enjoy your job quit and look for another. You do not want to be known as a slacker at work. I worked with people like that, and it only makes it bad for everyone.

Take a week's paid vacation. You might get away with slacking for awhile, but as with anything else, the more you get away with it, the less careful you become about not getting caught, and then you'll get fired.

Try to look really busy, whatever your doing, just act like your working hard on one thing. And try to avoid being by your boss all the time. If that doesn't work, then get to work.

My coworker just makes herself look busy, although she accomplishes very little.
I know this because when I have to fill in for her, I can do her job without gettting too far behind on my own job duties.
The boss doesn't see it though, because she's a goody-goody.
Oh well, he's paying her, not me.
