Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon -- home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The OSF is practically year-round, producing a dozen or so different plays in three permanent theaters; having this kind of a resource in the same city as the college has to make it a serious consideration for any drama student. It's important to learn the basics, but with theater in particular, there's no substitute for seeing good talent.
If you're more interested in film, UCLA has one of the best-respected film schools in the country.

Depends on what type of peforming arts you want to do. Either it be dance, opera, acting, etc. My only suggestion that I've found the best "schools" seem to be in the bigger cities where there is more demand for that sort of thing and more oppourtuinity to get professional experience while still doing classes.
Note to consider: If there is a graduate program, it is more than less likely that you will wait untill maybe your senior year before you actually get a role in a play due to graduates getting first pick.

The college of East Anglia is an across the international regarded centre for English (Malcolm Bradbury taught there, as did Harold Pinter and Andrew action). It additionally has the Sainsbury's centre (no longer a food market) between the main important deepest paintings collections in the united kingdom. If, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, you're no longer particular in spite of if to do English OR paintings, you will discover it annoying to get in. the two matters are oversubscribed and you'd be competing against people who're a hundred% focussed on one direction and have honed their 6th form lives to getting there!

Historically, the University of Michigan has ranked first, and Indiana University has been ranked second. Visual is probably better at Michigan, and performing arts is spectacular at Indiana.
