Yeah, you're right. He's done two stupid things. One of them is illegal and the other one is not, just disapproved of by all nice people. The court system will take care of the drunk driving thing I hope. I hope they don't just let him off on grounds that he is a rich good looking (well some people think) celebrity.
The ugly words have to be taken care of in the courts of public opinion. Which are now in session.
Mel Gibson- I could carve a better man out of a matzo.

If you or I had done what Mel did no one would know or care about our anti-Semitic remarks. It's a big deal that he did because he is a celebrity and has a lot of influence. Driving drunk is a bigger deal, to be sure. What I wonder is why he was only charged with DUI and not DWI. And will he actually get any jail time? He could get up to 6 months but this is his "first offense," meaning it's the first time he got caught. What he said was more than stupid stuff. It was anti-Semitic. And we all know that alcohol lowers our inhibitions, so perhaps he was saying what he really believes. He's apologized, but I want to see a change in his behavior before I believe it is a true apology.

If you watched the news, you would know Mel was charged with several counts of DUI. And although the DUI is at least as serious as his anti-semitic remarks, he in fact did not maim or kill anybody with his reckless behavior. Had he done so, believe me, that would have been the lead story!!

he was just lucky he didn't kill someone, when your driving drunk, your car is a loaded weapon,....
he got off easy, and he'll survive, but if he would have killed someone he would have been another Ted Kennedy, no one ever forgot he killed Mary Jo Kopectney, he drove off a bridge and then he left her in the back seat of his car to drown, and he made sure he got his big fat a** out of the car, and never attempted to go back and save her...swam across the river and reported to the police the NEXT Day!

Question: If someone says something about Jewish we have a word for it "anti-semetic", what if someone say something about Christians or even Christ himself, is there a term for that as well?

If you or I got arrested in Malibu for DWI, would we make the national news? He!! no. Leave Mel Gibson alone and get on with your pathetic life.
