I wouldn't call holding the door open anything special. Let's hear those great stories.

I don't think I've done anything nice to a stranger now that I think of it lol.

I was at an art fair in the park last weekend. These days I go alone. None of my family enjoy the same type of activities that I do. I was taking my time (which is exactly why my family gets so bored) and was about finished for the day. I was on my way back through the park to my vehicle when I noticed on of the vendors was in evident duress. I lingered for a moment and then asked if she were all right. She wasn't. She was in terrible pain. I asked if she would like some hands on. She said she hurt so badly she was almost in tears. I put down my bags and rubbed her back and neck for her. This may not seem like much. Mind you, I know the type of headache she was suffering having suffered the same type myself. I know what a good back/neck massage can do for relief. I offered what I could until her business obligations took her away. I can only hope that she got some relief that day. Here's to your well being, Nancy!

Where I live getting from a parking lot to the parkway is car pile up weighting to happen, so I make sure I let as many people out as I can when I am driving.... I know it doesn't seem like much but if you have ever been in a tourist town during the peek of the season you would understand.

I work in a hotel, that gives free night stays to certain people. I had a guest who used her points to pay for the stay of a family she did not know, because they were having car trouble.

While in New Orleans several years ago for Mardi Gras I saw a homeless man on the street (it was during the day and too early for the drunks to be out yet, so I was sure he was truly homeless). I went asked him if he was hungry and he said yes, so I took him to the McDonald's next door and bought him a full meal as well as a coupon book worth $40.00 (all the cash I had in my wallet at the time).

kimchee_boi,

Honestly, I've done a lot of nice things for many people without letting them know or ask me. True, opening doors and giving a bit change mostly comes naturally to me, it's a given kindness. I've helped strangers by helping them with something for no money, just because they needed help. I always do my best because it's something that makes me feel great and I know I'm doing the right thing.

However, I know the best thing I did is something I'm doing right now and will keep on doing so: Trying to make my Hero proud of me! He's a stranger to me and I probably owe a lot to him. He's a Paramedic! I spent 6 months searching for him with not much info. but my attempts didn't work and I just wanted to thank him. Then I talked to Paramedics online who went out of their way with kindness to teach me. It's been eight months now and I've let go of finding him before I distroyed my life. I became obsessed, an insinuate to let go of my stupidity. I've started to volunteer. I'm expanding my education, being diligent and steadfast in my task. As a 16-year-old I'm glad to understand the importance of education before a few others I know. I'm trying to make my parents proud of me. I've started to work on my future. And that's all for my Hero - a stranger. I pray for all of them each time I think about them. Awesome people they are, Paramedics. They deserve much more respect and something a Paramedic taught me is that: God never puts something in front of you that he doesn't - mean - to be there. He never gives you more than you can't handle. That's the beauty of it. Always, believe in yourself. And believe in what you beleive in.

Having said that, I want to make my Hero proud of me and would do my best. Even though I don't know who he was or his full name. I met this amazing stranger for 8 minutes - flat and he changed my life around for the better. The best thing I've ever done for a stranger is to pray for their well-being and for them to keep on doing what they love to do best - save lives :) And I consider that the best thing someone can do for a stranger or a friend. I'll always wish them well so nothing can go wrong and I'm glad to do what I do.

By the way, this is a very good question. Take care and stay safe :)

Warm Regards!

The nicest thing that I ever did for a complete stranger was saving their house by putting out a fire that some boys were about to start on their tree.

It really did happen!

I was in the coffee shop and a lady was paying for her drink with her debit card. It didn't go through (I don't know why), they tried again, it still didn't work. She looked very embarrassed and truly upset that she couldn't have her coffee. I was waiting for my tea to be made so I had her coffee added to my bill. She was truly truly grateful and smiled her way out of the shop. Queue warm feeling in side.

On a side note. When the mood takes me. I like to buy a few chocolate bars and hand them out to random people as I see fit. Generally cheers them up after a bad day :)

While travelling in the opposite direction, I noticed steam coming from the engine of a car. I pulled over, turned around and a couple miles up the road came across a grandmother taking her grandson to a hockey tournament. I took them to my mechanic's shop 8 miles away, waited around for the mechanic to go check their car out and when I found out they were stranded, drove both of them into the city, 3/4 hour away so he wouldn't miss his first game of the tournament. Her thank you was more than enough for me.

Let a family with small children use cell phone to call for help. And supplied them with all the cold water and fruit drinks that we had in the truck. They were stranded on the side of the road in Oklahoma. No one else had stopped.

Then commited a crime that kills many people every year.

There were 16,694 alcohol-related fatalities in 2004 – 39 percent of the total traffic fatalities for the year.

This wasn't me personally but my mother last year worked with a kid who had his jacket stolen and it was getting colder out. All of his pay was to help his family with food and rent so my Mom bought him a heavy winter coat and left it at the office for him with a card from Santa Claus. He still has no idea where it came from but he was very proud wearing it around work.
