Only if you don't mind looking a little manly, but as long as you can cover it up it will be cool.

The shoulder blade is a good place if you need to cover it up occasionally. Also, not much to sag around that area. :) I have one on my right shoulder blade, and while I would have liked to have it over a bit, now I can add something to it over time.

As far as getting a tattoo in general, well, that's really up to you. Just think about what you would like to have for your entire life.

If you are ready to get a tattoo you shouldn't have to ask for others advice. A tattoo is a personal experience and one that you will have for life. Take into consideration the job field that you want to go into. And make sure that the tattoo means something to you. Good Luck!

I have one on my right shoulder blade and contrary to the apparent belief it looks anything but manly. Most women I know that have tattoos have them on their shoulderblades.

Mine never hurt per say, it slightly stung in the area towards my under arm and the weirdest part was that I could feel it a lot when he went over bone, but not in a pain way...though I have a high tolerance to pain...

Despite the celebrities with tattoos, I think a girl with a tattoo looks cheap. My father had tattoos on his arms and he wished all his life he could get rid of them. There is some danger to getting them too, HIV, hepatitis, I even saw a TB of the skin once.
